Born in 1964 in Marmande (near Bordeaux), a former tennis teacher, Jean-Christophe started his career in the fashion industry in Paris in 1992 and he is still in the fashion management. A few years ago he (together with François) bought a big peaceful land in Portugal and built Villa Extramuros, a modern haven in the Alentejo countryside. Jean-Christophe and François are sublimely taking care of it and of their four awesome in-house 4 cats, Mr Toto, Ms Lulu, Mr Riri and Ms Mila.

If you could close your eyes and be somewhere else, where would you want to be?

I would love to come back to La Gazelle d'Or at Taroudant (Morocco). This hotel is so quiet and perfect to relax. You have the feeling to stay in an oasis. The food at the restaurant is very good and tasty. The service is just perfect. This is a really exclusive place.

The restaurant where you feel at home.

The Relais du Plaza Athénée in Paris (unfortunately destroyed last year…).

A hotel room that makes you nostalgic.

Room n°14 of the Katikies hotel in Santorini.

A travel you could do over and over again without getting bored.

A safari in South Africa.

A dish that recently surprised you.

The “Coquillettes pour enfants gâtés” from the Eric Frechon’s Parisian restaurant LAZARE.

A holiday place from your childhood.

Le Bassin d’Arcachon in the West Coast of France near Bordeaux.

If a kid asked you to take him/her on a trip, where would that be?

At Cancale in Brittany to eat some crepes.

If you could choose a dream place to celebrate, what would that be?

At home with my best friends as I will do very soon for my birthday.

A view you will never forget.

From our room at The Outpost in the Kruger Park in South Africa.

Your Meraviglia address that can’t be missing from our collection.

I would dream to stay at the Amangiri. This hotel looks so different with a very minimalist architecture in the middle of an amazing landscape. For sure, one of my next trip…

A place you wish it was just round the corner.

To eat a grilled fish at the restaurant (Restaurante da Adraga) on the Praia de Adraga beach between Cascais and Sintra in Portugal.
