Lavin wouldn’t be such a special place if it weren’t for the bright yet delicate pink of Piz Linard’s façade standing out from the few houses of the village. Although everyone, from the hosts to the clients, speaks German, this hotel reminds of France. It’s like one of those cafés on the Côte d’Azur where people sit at the first (and only) row of tables outside the hotels from sunrise to sunset, holding their newspaper or their walking maps while enjoying the house ice tea. At 7pm dinner is served in the dining room, a welcoming mountain restaurant with wood furniture, wild flowers, white tablecloths and the refined atmosphere of a busy well-known and multi-awarded Parisian bistro. The bedrooms are both romantic and contemporary. Well done Hans Schmid, perfect host and friend. Meraviglia has found a new home.
